Why Dieting isn't the best way to lose weight!

I have been a professional competitor in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for over 6 years and I've had to cut weight for numerous competitions, in multiple ways. I have been on the Ketogenic Diet, Paleo, Low Carb, Low Fat and Intermittent Fasting. You name it, I've done it! Every single one of them was a horrible experience. I would feel low on energy, lethargic, crave sugar and eventually the same conclusion would occur. My metabolism would actually back fire on me and slow down. You see, your body has an amazing safety mechanism that when malnourished of certain elements, in this example calories, it shuts down your metabolism. Basically saying to itself, "We don't know when we are going to get the next load of energy, so the safest option is to slow the metabolism down and hold onto the fat storage". It is kInd of counter productive to what we are trying to do on a diet! Usually people don't recognise this, and they become frustrated with trying to remove the last bit of stubborn fat. So they lower the calories even more, creating an even worse situation! This is when the body starts turning up the craving levels and you find yourself in that particular shop, with that little piece of shit donut, looking at you straight in the eyes, saying "Come at me big boy!". You think to yourself, maybe just one lick, just a taste. But before your tongue can touch it, you shove that whole thing down your throat and thank god that there was a hole in it, for you to breath through!

Then the shame takes hold, and you feel depressed because you have just ruined all that hard work. Later on when it's time to eat again, you convince yourself to just eat whatever you want, and start the diet over again tomorrow. You already fucked it up for the day. Tomorrow comes and the cravings are back thanks to yesterday's splurge. So you convince yourself to start again tomorrow, but tomorrow becomes next week and next week becomes next month! You see where I'm going..

Diets are almost impossible to sustain for long periods at a time and sometimes leave us in worse positions than we were before we started!

But not all is lost! There is a healthy way to cut all that belly fat down and the best part of it, is it's fun, enjoyable and easy to sustain. This is what we call a healthy lifestyle choice. You don't have to cut down your calories to a point where you're eating chicken and broccoli so much that you want to throw it up through your nostrils. What we do is cut out the refined sugars and processed foods, leaving a wide variety of meals consisting of whole, nutritious foods. The meals are calculated to an intake, that allows you to eat plenty of food, while reaching your health and body goals! The thing most people don't realise, is when you eat wholefoods, you are allowed to eat more food because it contains less calories than processed foods and it is nutrient dense.

I know what you're thinking. "Yeah, but wholefoods sounds plain and boring", but you're wrong! The amount of amazing meals you can build on wholefoods is unreal. In our 8 Week Body Transformation Meal Plan, we offer over 13 options for every single meal throughout the day, including vegetarian options. We promote freedom of choice and flexibility in lifestyle, while avoiding the monotony of eating the same meals every day. For the first time in my life, I am able to eat the foods I enjoy, while consistently burning fat in a way I can confidently sustain for the rest of my life!

It doesn't matter what your reason is Whether it's to be a good role model for your kids, to feel better about yourself or to just be healthier and live longer in general. Any reason is a good reason to start a healthy lifestyle change.
