Kit has been in the grappling game and competed for a long time, tried a lot of different diets. Low fat diets, high fat diets, ketogenic diets, intermittent fasting, the list goes on!
With most of those diets you go through phases where it all goes well at the start then in a couple weeks you get burnt out and miserable because you're always feeling hungry and you don't enjoy the foods you eat then your body gets used to the diet, everything slows down, you don't burn as many calories and then you get frustrated.
Next thing you know, you're trying so hard with a specific diet, you're still fat, you're hating life. One day you see a donut in a shop and think to yourself "just a lil lick" and next thing you know you shlurped the whole thing down without even knowing and it all goes downhill from there.
