 A good gripping system must be versatile 

The main thing you should look for when picking a gripping system is versatility. ESPECIALLY if you dabble in both gi and nogi. Relying on spider or lasso grips is good, as long as everyone you ever grapple is wearing our beloved pajama. That's why I prefer a system that controls the arms, but with grips that don't rely on fabric gripping.
